Scanning is possible at speeds of up to 48 km/h (30 mph), but the best and clearest echo sounder image is obtained at speeds of 2-9 km/h (1-6 mph).

MDI - MEGA DownImaging extremely high frequency sonar. Currently, only Humminbird echo sounders can offer high frequency (MHz) scanning in both SideImaging (side view) and DownImaging (bottom view). Up to 3 times more powerful sonar.

Exceptionally vivid details, the most accurate imaging ever. When using Humminbird Mega SideImaging sonar at depths up to 38 m, the image is visible up to 38 m to the sides. When using Humminbird Mega DownImaging sonar at depths above 38 m, the image is visible up to 121 m to the sides.

 AutoChart Live feature – if you don't have a map of your desired body of water, don't worry. With Humminbird fishfinders that have the AutoChart Live feature, you can create maps yourself.  SwitchFire sonar - see what you want to see. You can turn on or off the scanning filters you want. Humminbird SwitchFire sonar echo sounders also have two main options - Clear mode and Max mode. 

Clear mode - objects on the water surface are filtered out, allowing you to see the largest objects in the water without any extraneous small disturbances nearby, as well as the bottom structure (picture on the left).

Max mode – you will see everything: the bottom structure, objects on the water surface, on the bottom, and throughout the water. You can also clearly see the movement of the bait (picture on the right).

 360 Imaging sonar - revolutionary 360° scanning capabilities with Humminbird fishfinders. Now you can see everything up to 45 m (150 ft) ahead of your boat. With 360° Humminbird sonar, see fish before they see you, as the scan contours will always be ahead of your boat. With 5 scan speeds to choose from, select the slowest for the best quality imaging. You can scan the image in sections, not necessarily 360° (see illustration). Once you have found an object and want to mark it, you can do so immediately with 360° scanning enabled, and you will then see the marked point on your maps.
